Kingstown St. Vincent, May 18, 2026– The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force is warning members of the public to be cautious when donating to school fundraising activities following reports that some students may be using photocopied sponsorship sheets to collect money fraudulently.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force said it had received information suggesting that official sponsor forms linked to school events were being copied and used to solicit funds for personal use.
The police urged potential sponsors to carefully inspect sponsorship sheets before making donations.
“If the stamp or information on the sheet appears photocopied or suspicious, members of the public are advised not to make donations until the authenticity of the sheet is verified with the respective school,” the statement said.
School sponsorship drives are common across St Vincent and the Grenadines, particularly during sports meets, graduations, school trips and other fundraising activities, with students often approaching businesses, relatives and members of the public for financial support.
The police did not identify any schools involved or indicate how widespread the alleged activity may be.
However, authorities said the public should remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
