Kingstown, St. Vincent, June 15, 2026-The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) has formally presented its 2025 Accountability Report to government officials in St Vincent and the Grenadines, highlighting a year of initiatives aimed at strengthening agriculture and rural development.

The presentation took place during IICA’s 2025 Accountability Seminar held on June 10 at Frenches House under the theme “Transparency, Responsibility, Impact.” More than 40 participants, including farmers, agro-processors, Ministry of Agriculture officials and stakeholders, attended the event.

The report was officially handed over by IICA Representative in the Eastern Caribbean States, Gregg Rawlins, to Minister for Fisheries, Marine Conservation and Climate Resilience, Hon. Conroy Huggins, and Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Colville King.

According to IICA, the seminar served as an opportunity to account for the organisation’s work and reflect on its contribution to advancing agriculture and supporting rural communities throughout 2025.

Among the key achievements outlined in the report were online training programmes designed to strengthen the capacity of micro, small and medium-sized agribusinesses, initiatives to improve agricultural health systems, measures to enhance food safety and quality standards, and interventions aimed at strengthening surveillance and response capacity for African Swine Fever.

While the report presentation remained the focal point of the event, the seminar also became an occasion to recognise the contribution of Dalton, who is preparing to assume a new role as IICA Representative in Suriname after serving in St Vincent and the Grenadines for 17 years.

Stakeholders reflected on his role in supporting the agricultural sector, building the capacity of farmers and agro-processors and fostering partnerships that contributed to development across the country.

Tributes and presentations during the seminar recognised his years of service and impact, adding a personal dimension to an event centred on accountability and results.

The seminar concluded with a reflection on the role of partnerships, leadership and collaboration in driving sustainable agricultural development in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
