Kingstown St. Vincent June 17,2026 – The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) has issued a stern warning to gangs and other criminal elements ahead of Vincy Mas 2026, saying officers will be deployed in force throughout the carnival period to combat violence and illegal activity.

In a statement posted by the police, Assistant Superintendent of Police Nolan Dalloway said the RSVGPF and the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) were putting criminal groups on notice, including individuals associated with the Sixth and Seventh gangs.

“Police will be out in full force throughout Vincy Mas, targeting illegal weapons and criminal activity,” Mr Dalloway said.

He warned that anyone found carrying weapons or engaging in unlawful conduct during the festivities would face arrest and prosecution.

“Leave your weapons at home, enjoy the festivity responsibly,” he urged.

Mr Dalloway said the police force’s position was unequivocal, stressing that acts of violence and disorder would not be tolerated.

“Our message is clear, no form of criminality, violence or lawlessness will be tolerated,” he said.

Vincy Mas, St Vincent and the Grenadines’ annual carnival celebration, attracts thousands of revellers and visitors and is among the country’s largest cultural events. The police have traditionally heightened security measures during the festival to ensure public safety and maintain order.
