    DJ face criminal charges

    A popular DJ appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Monday to answer three criminal charges, after allegedly using indecent language during his DJ session at an event dubbed ‘Colour Fete’ held at Arnos Vale last Sunday.Ray Parker Rogers, whose entertainment sobriquet is ‘DJ Maff’, is charged with, in circumstances likely to cause a breach of the peace, did make use of indecent language, to wit, “dem (expletive) boy dey can’t talk to me; what de (expletive) dem think dey is”.

    Rogers is also charged with assaulting Inspector Dwayne Bailey, he being a police officer acting in due execution of his duties. He is additionally charged with resisting the arrest of Inspector Bailey, he being a police officer acting in due execution of his duties.

    The Old Montrose man pleaded not guilty to all three charges when he stood before Chief Magistrate Browne. He is represented by Attorney Grant Connell.

    The matter was adjourned to December 9 and transferred to the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court.Rogers, who had been granted station bail on the charges, had his bail continued by the Serious Offences Court on Monday.
