The estimates of expenditure and revenue for the year 2019 are to be laid before parliament on January 23rd, 2019.
Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves made the announcement at his Unity Labour Party’s (ULP) convention at the Campden Park Secondary school yesterday.
Dr Gonsalves said that following the laying of the estimates, Minister of Finance Camilo Gonsalves will present the 2019 budget on January 29th, 2019.
The Prime Minister said parliamentarians and cabinet members are at the stage of finalizing the estimates.
The Prime Minister said that although the Christians season is a time of celebration, particularly from December 24th to 26th, cabinet members will be working over the season.
“Your government will be working hard and smart as if they just come to office,” Dr Gonsalves told the convention.
