ANN has been reliably informed that the case against Yugge Farrel involving Finance Minister’s wife Karen Gonsalves has been withdrawn by the DPP

Earlier last year, Yugge Farrell, 23, made headlines in St Vincent as it was alleged that she had an affair with finance Minister Camillo Gonsalves. During this time, Yugge allegedly went to Minister Gonsalves wife’s work place and made threats. This resulted in her arrest.

Magistrate Bertie Pompey last year ordered that Farrel undergo a psychological evaluation to assess her mental health. This sparked debates throughout the Caribbean.

The case that is down for hearing  on Monday 17th December,2018 was withdrawn a source told ANN .

Lawyer Kay Bacchus- Baptiste told ANN this afternoon that “the DPP gave her notice by letter that they intend to formally discontinue the matter ‘regarding the militating circumstances of the case.”

She further added that this is not to say that the virtual complainant withdrew, the DPP and the virtual complainant generally  do not  collude.
