    “Officer I have a small piece of weed” – Lewis told the officer

    Shaquille Lewis was charged on 5/1/19 with possession of 883 grams of cannabis with the intent to supply to another at Belle Isle.

    PC 962 Johnson stopped H5661 that was traveling towards Barrouallie whilst on mobile patrol in that area. When the vehicle stopped the defendant was observed sitting by the conductor’s door with a green and grey Jansport. He was asked to exit the vehicle where a search was conducted on his person and property.

    The defendant stated “officer I have a small piece of weed”. Search of his person was futile however the bag when opened contained four transparent bags of what appeared to be cannabis.

    He was cautioned further where he replied “officer is someone give me to give a woman.” He was then arrested and charged.

    The court heard that he has similar antecedents. He was charged $1,000.00XCD based on the quantity. He paid $500 and was given until February 5th to pay the balance or if in default he will spend two months in prison.
