As National Heroes and Heritage month 2019 comes to an end, the Ministry of Culture is appealing to Vincentians to celebrate local Heroes who have made a significant contribution to national development.
This appeal was made by Chief Cultural Officer, Anthony Theobalds.
Mr. Theobalds noted that many Vincentians have developed an appreciation for the achievements of Black People in the international arena.
He said some Vincentians appear to be more concerned with Black History Month in the United States than they are about celebrating Vincentian History and its Heroes.
Mr. Theobalds is there fore appealing to Vincentians to celebrate the lives of people such as E.T Joshua who were instrumental in the development of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
National Heroes and Heritage month is celebrated every year during the month of March as the nation observes National Heroes Day on March 14th to celebrate this country’s National Hero – Paramount Chief Joseph Chatoyer.
