More than twelve thousand National Identification Cards will expire during the year 2019.
Supervisor of Elections, Dora James revealed this during yesterday’s launch of phase one of the Electoral Office’s Voters Education Programme.
Mrs. James says every National Identification Card is issued for use of ten years so ALL Identification Cards that were issued in 2009 will expire this year.
She says the Electoral Office will begin the renewal of Identification Cards as part of the Re-registration process of voters in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from April 15th.
She is therefore encouraging everyone whose Identification Card was issued in 2009 to get their Identification Cards renewed.
U.N Consultant Yvonne Goodie who has more than twenty years’ experience in matters relating to the Electoral process is currently attached to the Electoral Office assisting with the implementation of the Voters Education Programme.
