    St Vincent and the Grenadines sweep CARICOM 10-K titles

    St. Vincent and the Grenadines swept the Male and Female categories in the 14th CARICOM 10-K road race in Saint Lucia, Sunday, with female runner Linda McDowald recording a hattrick of victories in the event.

    Mc Dowald crossed the finish line in 40.40 to add to earlier victories in the 12th and 13th editions, held in Guyana and Jamaica respectively. She also placed second in the 11th edition in Barbados, behind Guyanese Andrea Foster.

    The end of the week brings a slight break from the dense clouds, with partly cloudy to cloudy conditions dominating Friday’s forecast. Though sunshine may peek through at times, the breeze will persist, and showers will remain in the mix.

    Seas will remain moderate, between 1.5m and 2.0m (4ft to 7ft), but there’s an additional concern—a slight increase in Saharan dust haze could impact air quality and visibility, particularly for those on the roads or at sea.

    A Word of Caution

    With shifting winds, above-normal sea swells, and occasional dust haze, small craft operators and sea bathers are urged to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions.

    As the region braces for these fluctuating conditions, one thing is certain—nature will continue to remind us of its power and unpredictability.
