    TROPICAL SHIPPING DONATES TO WPP’S EVERY CHILD COUNTS CAMPAIGN

    Kingstown, St. Vincent – World Pediatric Project (WPP) received a kind donation of EC $4,000 from Tropical Shipping as part of their contribution towards the “Every Child Counts Campaign”. The donation took place at WPP’s office in a brief handover by Tropical Shipping Representatives Mrs. Maxine Howard (Sales Manager), Ms. Felicia George (Sales Coordinator) and Executive Director of World Pediatric Project, Lauren McIntosh
     
    WPP officially launched the ECC campaign on February 26th and has a series of planned fundraising events which will roll out over the next 2 years. Lauren McIntosh –Executive Director of World Pediatric Project said the Every Child Counts Campaign is a local initiative aimed at boosting awareness of WPP and the work we have done and diligently continue to do in SVG as well as to encourage local philanthropy and to assist in funding the program and meeting the funding target of $270,000 in two years.
     
    Howard expressed that it was a privilege to be able to make a meaningful contribution to the World Pediatric Project to assist with the “Every Child Counts Campaign” which provides access to critical pediatric, surgical and diagnostic health care services to needy children in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Eastern Caribbean.
     
    Howard further stated such a Campaign cannot be underscored and that the donation, falls under the company’s corporate social responsibility of which improving the quality of life of children in St. Vincent and the Grenadines which is one of their initiatives.
     
    McIntosh applauded Tropical Shipping for their donation which is appreciated and indicated that she hopes this will encourage other businesses in SVG to partner with WPP or donate to a cause that visibly makes a difference in the lives of our children. She further went on to state that “This Every Child Counts Campaign is about businesses, government and individuals working together as a community. It is a catalyst for us to come together as community to assist in healing our children that need medical care. By healing our children, we are restoring hope and the promise for a better future for our communities, our nation and the global community.
     
    She emphasized that WPP is committed to reaching every child who needs our help and encouraged individuals and the corporate community to support the 5K SWEAT event on November 30th which is one of the fundraising activities organized in conjunction with Be Fit Movement SVG.
