    Morgan makes donation to Technical College

    Lecturer Daniel Thom receives tools on behalf of College from Mr. Morgan

    As part of the continuing celebration of  TVET month 2019 here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines,  the Automotive Repairs programme at the Division of Technical and Vocational Education of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College on Thursday 21st November received a quantity  of hand tools valued at EC$2800.00. The donation which included three Craftsman tool kits, a quantity of pliers and screw drivers, filter wrench sets, flaring tools, etc. was made by proprietor of Pops and Ticks Auto of Frenches, Mr. Winston Morgan. As a past student of the Mechanical Techonology programme of what was then the St. Vincent Technical College, Morgan spoke proudly of how the institution allowed him to acquire a skill that influenced his life and contributed his success to the point where he can now give back.  Mr. Morgan is keen on his contribution allowing young people to acquire a skill and prepare them for life.

    Mr. Morgan, encouraged by the work of the Division and its influence on young people has committed Pops and Ticks Auto to a long term partnership with the institution where over next few months the Automotive Repairs Programme will receive a state of the art Launch X4131 Diagnostic Scan Tool valued at EC$4,000.00. This cutting edge technology diagnostic scan tool will be used to detect, diagnose and repair electronic faults on all modern vehicles from Asia, European and America markets.  In addition, the Programme will receive two used vehicles out of Japan to function as training aids.

    On hand to receive the tools were Mr. Raffique Browne and Mr. Daniel Thom, lecturer and Instructor respectively in the Automotive Repair Programme as well as Head of the Engineering of Department, Mr. Joseph Bobb.  Dean of the Division, Mr. Osborne Bowens made brief remarks and thanked Pops and Ticks Auto for their generous donation and their continued commitment to the programme and spoke of the need for quality tools and equipment to allow for the kind of training that will allow graduates to function in this ever evolving automotive industry.
