The Dominica Labour Party (DLP) has been swept into power again in general election in Dominica on Friday.

Led by Roosevelt Skerrit, the party got 18 seats in the 21-seat parliament, preliminary results show.

This is the third consecutive time the party has won general election under the leadership of Skerrit.

He led the DLP to power in 2009, 2014 and now 2019.

The result is a crushing blow to the opposition United Workers Part (UWP) which received three seats
