    Sir Frederick Nathaniel Ballantyne GCMG has died.

    Reports are that the former Governer General passed area at his home early Thursday morning.

    A trained cardiologist and former chief medical officer here, he was appointed Governor-General in September 2002. He succeeded Dame Monica Dacon, who had been acting in the position after the death of Charles Antrobus.

    Sir Ballantyne would be remembered as the longest serving Governer General amongst his life long achievements.

    Ballantyne was born on 5 July 1936 and was 83 years at his passing.
