    Attackers Charged with Attempted Murder for Greiggs Chopping

    Police on Friday January 31st, 2020 arrested and jointly charged Paige Baptiste, 17 and Leisha Johnson, 20, both unemployed of Greiggs with the offence of Attempted Murder.

    According to police investigations, the accused women allegedly committed the act of attempted murder on a 16 years old student, Z’Annie Charles of the same address by chopping and stabbing her on her face with a cutlass and a knife. The incident occurred at Greiggs on Wednesday 29th January, 2020.

    Baptiste and Johnson appeared before the Serious Offences Court on Monday (Feb. 3) charged with attempted murder. They were charged that on Wednesday 29th January, 2020, at Greiggs, with intent to commit the offence of murder. They were not required to plea to the charge and they were granted $9,000 bail each with one surety.

    The women were not legally represented.

    Baptiste and Johnson were placed on a 7 p.m to 6 a.m curfew and ordered to report to the Biabou Police Station on Mondays and Thursdays between 6 a.m and 6 p.m. They were also ordered to surrender all travel documents, including their driver’s license.

    Both women are scheduled to re-appear in court on April 21st, 2020.
