The Fisheries Division in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Rural Transformation, Industry & Labour would like to inform the general public that the Closed Season for lobsters is 1st May to 31st August.
Please remember it is illegal to catch, buy, sell, or possess lobsters during the close season; female lobsters carrying eggs; lobsters from which eggs were removed; lobsters with soft shells (moulting) and undersize lobsters. Fishermen are reminded to remove all lobster pots from the water during the close season.

According to the Fisheries Regulations of 1987, the sale of lobster by hotels and restaurants acquired before the close season is allowed only during the first thirty (30) days of the close season.

Members of the public are also asked to note as of 1st December 2019, no person shall harm, take, have in his/her possession , sell or purchase parrotfish, its fry or eggs.

Any one caught violating these regulations are liable to a fine up to $5000.00.
