At the Unity Labour Party (ULP) celebratory rally taking place at the decommissioned E.T. Joshua Airport at Arnos Vale, Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves announced that the Cabinet swearing-in ceremony will take place next week.

The Prime Minister also announced that he will be sworn-in by the Governor General tomorrow on her invitation.

He further announced that Dr Orando Brewster, Curtis King and Carlos James will be among his top Cabinet picks when the list is announced next week.

Celebrating his unprecedented 5th term in office since March 28th, 2001, the Prime Minister thanked thousands of supporters who gathered. A national holiday was declared to celebrate the historic victory.

The Prime Minister who was in a jubilant mood all evening could not fight back tears during his introduction with fireworks. He thanked the massive crowd saying that he was proud that the country was able to have a free and fair election.

“We must not underestimate this achievement; it is a mark of our growing maturity of our democracy and our nation.”

The Unity Labour Party romped home to a 9 – 6 victory following a closely contested battle which saw the NDP come close in a number of seats held by ULP incumbents.
