The Roads, Buildings and General Services Authority (BRAGSA) has conducted soil testing at three schools across the island.

The Field Percolation tests were carried out at the Sandy Bay Secondary School,           St. Clair Dacon Secondary School and the Kingstown Anglican School.

The tests were done to determine the water absorption rate of the soil in preparation for the design of a septic drain field,

In addition, soil samples were tested at BRAGSA’s laboratory to determine the type and classification of the soil. The results will be used in the foundation designs of new buildings at the schools.

Similar tests are expected to be carried out at six other schools as part of the Schools Rehabilitation Project.
