The reopening of schools in St. Vincent and the Grenadines has been delayed for another week. This information came from this country’s Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Ralph Gonsalves this morning, while speaking on radio.
“Yesterday in cabinet we decided that we would extend the resumption of the school term for the week.” Gonsalves said.
Prime Minister Gonsalves went on to say that, starting Monday, schools will be employing online education.
“We will start from Monday; some schools have been doing it already, the online, the online education, the online teaching.”

Dr. Gonsalves then discussed the distribution of tablets to the students and educators of SVG.

“We have given out to the teachers and to the students from community college right down to the secondary school, to grade 6 in the primary schools, we have done that with the tablets.” He said.

In a release put out earlier this week it was revealed that there twenty eight (28) local cases of COVID-19 recorded in SVG.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines has now recorded one hundred and forty-nine (149) cases of COVID-19. One hundred (100) persons have recovered and forty-nine (49) remain active. All positive cases will continue to be isolated until cleared by two negative tests.
