On 19th April 2021, members of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) were the recipients of a donation of one (1) 40-foot container containing two thousand six hundred (2600) cases of bottled water from the Coreas Distribution Limited.

“To assist the population of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) to cope with the effects of the eruption of La Soufriere Volcano, Coreas Distribution Limited has embarked on a drive as a member of the corporate society to assist in the time of crisis.” Those were the words of Mr. Jimmy Forde, Chief Executive Officer of Coreas Distribution Limited at a brief handover ceremony at the Old Montrose Police Training School compound.

Mr. Ford said that it was an honour for his company to make such a tangible donation to the policemen and women of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF). According to him, in this time of disaster the police have been called upon to provide security and humanitarian work and can be easily forgotten under these circumstances.

He also disclosed that Coreas Distribution Limited will be offering assistance to other members of the public including nurses – especially those who have been displaced to shelters, to help them cope with the after effects of the volcano. Mr. Ford commended Commissioner of Police, Mr. Colin John and the members of the RSVGPF for an excellent performance so far and urged the constabulary to continue along that trajectory.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the RSVGPF, Commissioner of Police, Mr. Colin John thanked Mr. Ford and Coreas Distribution Limited for their “well thought out donation.” He concurred with Mr. Ford’s sentiments that in times of disasters, the police can easily be placed “at the back of line” where relief efforts are concerned. The Commissioner assured Mr. Ford that the donations will go a long way in assisting officers to remain hydrated during their long and arduous tour of duty throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Assistant Commissioner of Police in- charge of Crimes, Mr. Richard Browne also participated in the handover ceremony.
