Thanks for allowing me space in your publication so that I could get something off my chest.
I want to first of all to ask all your readers whether they feel we are in a crisis with this COVID-19 pandemic. If they say yes, then they all must join in trying to beat back this crisis that is causing confusion and death in our country.
I know some of those people who have died from COVID and most of them were not vaccinated. They did not believe, after listening to a whole set of preaching by people who are against the vaccine; that it can’t prevent you from going to the hospital and cannot prevent death.
What really gets to me is that some big shot educated people, some of them who got their education because of us taxpayers, are among those who are encouraging others not to take the vaccine. That is really, really bad. Like all their education end up in their foot.
Nobody needs to tell me that this COVID thing has made life hard for many of us. But it is the children and their future that will suffer most in the long run, because they are the ones who are not getting proper instruction and worse, by not going to school they can’t socialise and do physical things.
I appeal to all my fellow Vincentians to get vaccinated, especially our teachers so that our children can return to their classrooms. Please, don’t listen to all the nonsense that you hear from people around you. Now is not the time to be squabbling over a thing that can kill anyone of us.
I also encourage those who have not been vaccinated to listen to the news and they will hear that those countries that are returning to normal, are the countries where the majority of the people have been vaccinated.
For the sake of our children, yourselves and the nation as a whole, I beg you all, please get vaccinated today!
