On November 11, 2021, I appeared on an Instagram Live interview. During this interview, I made a generalized statement about the level of crime in my homeland St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG),

My statement was in reference to specific incidents that took place in Lodge Village- the area I grew up; and in which I still have family, friends, and property.  These unfortunate incidents hit home and remain fresh in my mind. They had a serious personal impact. For a moment during the interview, my emotions got the best of me, as I referenced these incidents.

Although I may not currently reside in SVG, it is my home. My intention is to show a positive light on my homeland, and I will make every effort to continue to do so.  I have done so through the platform I hold as an artiste, but also and more importantly, through many philanthropic efforts. I humbly apologize to the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I am proud to be a Vincentian.
