From today Monday, January 24, Vincentians will get a slight relief when they go to the pump for gasoline, diesel and low sulphur diesel.
Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves stated this yesterday while speaking on WEFM 99.9, noting he was announcing in advance of the official announcement on January 24.
“Finally we see a drop in the rolling three-month average of the petroleum products and therefore persons will get a slight relief as of tomorrow (January 24) in gasoline and diesel and low-sulphur diesel.
Not significant numbers but it is good to see after the three-month rolling average, to make the assessment, the Ministry of Finance gave it that it’s coming down a little,” says Gonsalves.
He says the existing price for gasoline is $14.72 per gallon, diesel is $12.59 and low sulphur diesel is $12.51.
“Each of them will go down slightly tomorrow,” says the prime minister.
Gonsalves noted that 90 per cent of minibuses use diesel in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
