Uranus Cabral, the 30-year-old labourer of Glen, was on Monday committed to stand trial in the High Court for the August 19, 2019 murder of Marcus Corridon, 48-year-old mechanic of Belair.
Following a Preliminary Inquiry (PI) which started at the Serious Offences Court earlier this year, Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne ruled that there was sufficient evidence for Cabral to stand trial. He was unrepresented at the PI.
Several witnesses testified for the prosecution, including the investigator, Corporal Henry Hoyte, and retired police inspector Sherol James.
James had started the investigations but subsequently retired, and Corporal Hoyte continued the probe.
The charge against Cabral stemmed from a shooting incident at Belair on August 19, 2019.
