    Vincentian Athletes produced notable performances in Jamaica

    After competing at the Corporate Area Champs development meet in Kingston, Jamaica, on March 4th and 5th, several Vincentian athletes produced notable performances.


    Long Jumper, Uroy Ryan, set a new National U20 record, when he placed 2nd in the event, with distance of 7.59m. He smashed his own record of 7.40m set last year. The jump also qualified him for the 2022 Carifta Games and World Athletics Junior Championships.

    Amal Glasgow also made the qualification standards for Carifta and World Juniors, in the 400m, with a time of 47.39.

    Verrol Sam came away with a victory, Carifta qualification, National U20 and senior record in the High Jump. He cleared the bar at 2.05m.

    Middle Distance runner Handal Roban, set a meet record in the 800m, in a time of 1:49.53.
