Belmont Resident on Twelve thousand dollars bail ($12,000) for illegal firearm and assault charges

Police arrested and charged Zolaney David,
22 years old Mechanic of Belmont with the offences of Possession of an Unlicensed
Firearm and Assault.
According to investigations, the Accused allegedly had in his Possession one (1) black
and silver Python .380 revolver without a license issued under the Firearms Act. He was
further charged with assaulting a 31 years old Bartender/Supervisor of Glen by pointing
a gun at her with intent to commit Bodily Harm. The incident occurred in Glen on
07.03.22 at about 6:40 pm.
The Accused appeared before the Serious Offences Court on 9.03.2022 to answer the
charges and pleaded not guilty. He was granted composite bail in the sum of twelve
thousand dollars ($12,000.00) with one (1) surety and ordered not to contact the Virtual
Complainant. He was also ordered to surrender all travel documents and report to the
Calliaqua Police Station every Friday between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. Stop notices were
issued at all ports of Entry/Exit. The matter was adjourned on 15.03.2022.
