A local hotel has warned its employees not to speak to members of the media about issues they are facing at the hotel, sources have told ANN.

Over seven (7) members of staff have already quit and some have been dismissed from the 5-Star hotel, ANN has been reliably informed.

In a memo to staff, the hotel stated: “It has come to the attention of the Board of Directors that members of staff are being approached or are in the process of speaking to members of the media about operational issues about the hotel.”

“You are hereby informed and reminded that you are contractually bound under section 8 of your contract of employment of the following terms

*_”…candidate shall not during or subsequent to his/her contract term, use, reveal, report, publish, transfer or otherwise disclose to any person or entity any confidential information without prior written consent…,” the memo added.

According to sources close to the matter, the memo further stated that “Any breaches will result in your immediate dismissal , and furthermore, please be informed that should the hotel experience any loss as a result of this breach, the Board of Directors will not hesitate to use the full extent of the law to recover such loss, which will also include all legal costs,” the memo further stated.

Staff were told that “this is not a joke and you are expected to take this notification seriously and abide by its dictate.”

Breaches will not be tolerated, it added.

The memo further stated that “Any attempt to destroy the reputation of this company will have a long reaching effect not only fot you but anyone who is connected or happens to conduct buisness (the hotel name removed).

Efforts to communicate with the hotel were futile.

ANN will bring more details as it comes to hand.

      Standard Protocol

Standard Protocol in most Private Business, if you do like, or feel dissatisfy in your employment, some place you have 14 days period to resign. It called “Work At Will” they can change or terminate you at Will. Unless there are Laws in place to help protect you in the private work force.
But since we are seeing the same type of behavior emanating from our Government here, what say ye of the private ones. They too will follow along the same path.

We calling on our Government to respect Labour Rights and put in place measure both Public and Private so that our people can work in an environment with the employer and employee are both satisfy.

      Taste ha that
