St. Vincent and the Grenadines struck gold at the Friendship Games in Fort De France, Martinique this weekend. In her first outing in national colours, Shaquania Jacobs, of the Thomas Saunders Secondary School, and the Xceed Sports Club, ran a personal best time of 25.15 to win the U17 Girls 200m.
Zichri Hepburn of the Barroaullie Secondary School and High Performance Track Club, took his middle distance dominance regionally, when he won the U17 Boys 800m in 2:01.07s.
Also travelling to Martinique was Girl’s High School and High Performance sprinter, Jadiesha Samuel who was 3rd in her U17 Girls 200m heat, and 7th overall with a time of 26.08, and J’mar Saunders of the IT DAT Academy and the St. Martin’s Secondary School, who was 5th in the U17 Boys 200m in 22.93
