
The bulk of the locally based members of the St Vincent and the Grenadines team to the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, will leave this Sunday.
The contingent is expected to wing out from the Argyle International Airport at 550pm and arrive in England at 950am.
St Vincent and the Grenadines will be represented in five disciplines- Aquatics ( Swimming) , Cycling, Squash, Table Tennis and Track and Field
.
Kenale Alleyne, Shane Cadogan, Bryson George, Abigail De Shong, Tia Gun Munro and Jamie Joachim are the representative in Aquatics while Zefal Bailey is the lone cyclist to compete for SVG at the Games.
Meanwhile, Jason Doyle, Othniel Bailey, Jules Snagg and Jada Ross are the four selected Squash players, with the all -female quartet of Leah Cumberbatch, Jessica Mc Carter, Shanecia Delpesche and Unica Velox, representing Table Tennis.
And, Mc Kish Compton, Handal Roban, Desroy Jordan, Javon Rawlins, Jabarri Michael- Khensu and Mikeisha Welcome are the selectees for Track and Field
.
The officials include Kyle Dougan, Mikal Quammie and Simone France (Aquatics), Emmerson Holder ( Cycling), Amber Glasgow ( Squash), Table Tennis ( Sean Stanley) and Alexandra Walrond, Chester Morgan and Godfrey Harry( Track and Field).
Completing the list of officials are Claude Bascombe Jr., Chef de Mission; Jacintha Ballantyne -Team Manager, Sherian Slater- Doctor, Sonja Arthur – Attache and Rohan Thomas Snr., the Press Attache.
Bascombe Jr, Ballantyne and Glasgow are already in England, ahead of the main contingent.
On arrival in England on Monday, the St Vincent and the Grenadines will have its official welcoming ceremony that same day.
The 2022 Commonwealth Games take place from 28th July to 8th August.
