Kingstown, St. Vincent & the Grenadines – After being on hold for about 2 years, WPP’s Physical Therapy mission has resumed and is back on the radar. This year’s team comprised of Physical Therapist, Lisa Bebko, Occupational Therapist, Jessica Lynn, and head of the Physiotherapy department at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, Mrs. Janelle Ballah. The program ran for three days from Thursday September 22nd to Saturday September 24th, 2022. They saw a total of 16 patients over the course of the mission here in SVG, focusing on, but not limited to, neurological cases and gradually improving the quality of their mobility. The team then headed to St. Lucia on September 25th to continue the mission and provide care for those regional families.

Compared to previous years, the total number of patients seen at this mission is somewhat low. This is attributable to a great deal of the families being difficult to contact. WPP is urging their existing families to contact the office or stop by to update their contact information where necessary, so that they are easily notified when teams arrive. This will help to increase and improve the number of children having access to the care they need.

From October 1st to 8th 2022, WPP’s General Orthopedics team will be here in SVG and following right after will be the Urology team from October 15th to 22nd 2022, led by Dr. Eric Gordon (Gen. Orthopedics) and Dr. Doug Coplen (Urology) respectively.

Persons interested in supporting the work of WPP or interested in knowing how they can be added to a program can contact the local office at (784) 451-2989.
