from ten schools across St. Vincent and the Grenadines benefitted from Digicel SVG’s recent back to school initiative. Five students at each school were the happy recipients of school supplies, lunch support for the term through the school feeding program or transportation.

Digicel SVG’s Brenda Barbour-Charles said, “The impact we have on our communities is very important to us, and education plays such a key role in improving livelihoods. Coming out of the pandemic, we know that many people are having a tough time, and the rising cost of living has resulted in greater challenges than we would normally face, so we wanted to help ease the burden for some deserving families.”

The selected schools were Belair Government School, Bequia Anglican Primary School, Canouan Primary School, Chateaubelair Methodist School, Georgetown Government School, Langley Park Government School, Layou Government School, Marriaqua Government School, Mayreau Government School and Stephanie Browne Primary School.

Barbour-Charles added, “With this support, parents and students have one less thing to worry about, and the children can focus on their studies and just being kids.”

In addition to making the donation, members of the Digicel SVG team were excited to visit the schools and spend time getting to know the 10 principals and 50 students.
