The Prime Minister, at the time, was speaking at the joint funeral of the five Clare Valley men.
He announced that a memorial is planned to remember the lives lost in the Sandy Bay and 2015 Rock Gutter accidents. Additionally, Gonsalves said two, three-year scholarships will be offered at the University of the West Indies in honour of the accident victims.
“In addition to the memorial, I announce today that as of September next year, the next academic year of the University of the West Indies, two scholarships will be offered, three year scholarships at the University. One in memory of the Rock Gutter seven and one in memory of the Clare Valley five,” Gonsalves said.
