The culture of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Republic of China, Taiwan was featured on Thursday evening, at a Creative Arts Festival, staged as part of activities to celebrate SVG’s 43rd anniversary of Independence.
The event was dubbed: Spotlight Taiwan: Hairouna Formosa Creative Arts Festival.
Taiwan’s Ambassador to SVG Peter Sha Li-Lan during his welcoming remarks highlighted the differences that made Spotlight Taiwan stand out from past collaborative cultural events held prior.
“Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the first ever Hairouna Formosa Art Festival. This is the first ever grassroot cultural exchange program that-we’ve had cultural groups visiting St. Vincent and the Grenadines and also we’ve had groups visiting Taiwan—but this is the first ever program that we have months of exchange of information, discussion. You’re going to finally see and witness all the Taiwanese elements put into the dance, the music, and the crafts,” Taiwan’s Ambassador said.
Spotlight Taiwan featured the best of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Taiwan, in relation to culture and the creative arts.
Ambassador Sha Li-Lan said timing of the event was appropriate with Taiwan just having celebrated their National Day and SVG about to celebrate our 43rd Independence.
