Forty young footballers, members of the St. Vincent and the Grenadine Under-14 male and Under-15 female outfits, will be supplied with vitamins for the next two months, compliments Coreas Distribution Limited.
The Under-14 male team travelled to the Dominican Republic in August to be part of the Caribbean Football Union Challenge Series and performed creditably.
Meanwhile, the Under-15 female team journeyed to Antigua and Barbuda for the Jewels of the Caribbean Invitational Tournament, and emerged winners.
It was for these efforts that Coreas Distribution sought to recompense the young players.
This was confirmed by Sales and Marketing Manager of Coreas Distribution Limited, Paul Antoine, at a brief ceremony on Thursday, 13th October at the Conference Room of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation (SVGFF).
Antoine noted that both teams’ performances were worthy of being recognized in a tangible way, hence his company’s donation.
In lauding the players’ achievements and their prowess, he implored them to place their academics as priority.
“Playing Football is the right stepping stone… This is just the beginning of a journey and in order to play football internationally, you can’t just be skillful just on the field… I want to implore each and every one of you that you must study your book first… First and foremost, get an education before you study football’” he advised.
Antoine assured the players and the members of the SVGFF Executive who were present, that his company intends to extend the outreach to other national football outfits.
Also speaking at the brief ceremony was President of the SVGFF- Carl Dickson.
Delighted at the undertaking by Coreas Distribution Limited, Dickson said, “We hope to join in partnership and continue the partnership with Coreas Distribution Limited to extend the two, to something more with longevity… It is something that we are looking forward to and we will like to invite other corporate citizens to join in and help us develop these youngsters in a holistic way.”
