The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC), through its donation of instructional supplies, has enhanced the resources of thirteen schools across St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The college, by way of its Division of Teacher Education, made the donation as part of its commemoration of 58 years of teacher education in the country.
Dr S. Marise Butler, Dean of the Division of Teacher Education, coined the gifts as “tokens of appreciation”, and expressed thanks to the schools for their continued support by allowing student-teachers the opportunity to conduct their teaching practicum at the various institutions as part of their teacher training.
Resources were donated to Biabou Methodist School, Bishop’s College Kingstown, Buccament Bay Secondary School, Calliaqua Anglican School, Central Leeward Secondary School, Colonaire Government School, C.W Prescod Primary School, Emmanuel High School, Fair Hall Government School, Kingstown Government School, Lowmans Leeward Anglican School, Questelles Government School and Stubbs Primary School.
The handing over was held as part of the SVGCC’s Division of Teacher Education’s week of activities to commemorate 58 years of teacher training in St. Vincent & the Grenadines, which also included the launch of a commemorative online magazine, zonal school visits, and staff and student activities. The activities culminated on October 28th, 2022.
