St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ National U20 Long Jump record holder, Uroy Ryan, has added the National U20 Triple Jump to his record list.

He eclipsed the previous record of 14.51m set by Ronaldo Andrews in 2022, and in the process also made the St. Vincent and the Grenadines standard for the 2023 Junior Carifta Games.

Ryan placed second in the event, behind fellow Jamaica College student- Trevon Cramer, who won with a leap of 15.15m.

Representing St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the 2022 Junior Carifta Games held in Jamaica, Ryan copped a silver medal in the Long Jump, with a best distance of 7.52m.

At the ISSA Grace Kennedy Boys and Girls Champs also in 2022, Ryan earned a silver in the Long Jump for his Jamaica College (JC) team, leaping to 7.75m.

Then, at the Penn Relays in the USA, Ryan, competing for JC, placed second in the Long Jump, with a wind assisted 7.54m distance.

And, at the World Athletics Under-20 Championships, Ryan did 7.64m, to finish in the top eight.

Ryan, who turns 19 in March, received his primary education at the Petersville Primary School and his secondary education at the Emmanuel High School Mespo and the Thomas Saunders Secondary.
