Vita Malt High Performance has retained the Championship title of the Relay Classic.
They did so when they ran away winners in 10 of the 35 events of the 2023 Classic Relay held last Saturday, February 11, at the Diamond Track Facility.
Among High Performance’s list of triumphs were first places in the 4 x 400m for Girls and Boys Under-15, Girls and Boys Under-17, Males Under-20 and Open. They were also best in the Under-15 Girls 4 x 100m, the Under-13 Males 4 x 200m, the Girls Under-15 and Males Under-17 Swedish Relays.
Meanwhile, the IT- DAT Academy and the Questelles Government School registered six wins each.
IT- DAT Academy took gold in the Under-15 and Under-17 Male 4 x 100m, the Under-20 Females 4 x 100m, the Male and Female Under-20 Swedish Medley and the Under-17 Females Swedish Relay.
The Questelles Government won the Under-11 Males and Females 4 x 100m, the Females 4 x 150m, the Under-13 Females 4 x 100m, the 4 x 200m and the Under-11 Males 4 x 150m.
Next was the St. Vincent Grammar School whose quartets trumped the Under-20 Males 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m, along with the Under-15 4 x400 and the Swedish Relay.
Also recording wins was the Brighton Methodist School, who copped the Males Under-11 4 x 80m, the Under-11 Males and Females 4 x 80m.
Chatoyer took the Open Males 4 x 100m and the Swedish Relay.
There were solitary wins for: the CW Prescod Primary School, who won the Under-13 Males Swedish Relay; X- Cel Track Club- the Open Males 4 x 400m; Mustangs Track Club- the Under-20 Females 4 x 400m; the St Martin’s Secondary – the Under-17 Males 4 x 400m.
Apart from the winners, other participating units were X- Ceed Sports Club, the Georgetown Secondary School and one unattached unit.
Saturday’s Relay Classic, which is one of the high points of Team Athletics SVG’s annual calendar, attracted a sizeable crowd, despite the dodgy weather.
