PC 69 Shaquan Ashton has been adjudged the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) Port Security Unit Officer of the Month of January 2023.
PC Ashton was recognized for the top spot from a batch of sixty (60) police officers. From January 1st, 2023 to January 31st, 2023, Ashton top scored in several categories that were used to assess nominees.
The Officer of the Month award is a new initiative introduced by the management of the Police Port Security Unit with the aim to recognize a recipient each month for outstanding work during that period and to boost staff morale overall.
Similar to the Police Force Police Officer of the Year Award nominees for the Police Port Security Officer of the Month will be judged in several categories, mainly: Job Performance; Deportment; Punctuality; Interpersonal Relationships; Conduct; and Temperament.
The 32 year old Ashton was enlisted as a member of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force on August 7th, 2013.
Ashton said his main goal is to bridge the gap between the police and the public. He is an avid dramatist, who enjoys making people laugh. However, when he is on the job PC Ashton is reliable and one can expect him to go above and beyond the call of duty.
“I always want to make a difference in the lives of others. That’s the reason I became a police officer,” said Ashton. “I am always open to learn new things and my quest is to impart that knowledge to others who do not know,” Ashton added.
