The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force Police Youth Clubs (PYC) Interclub-Netball Competition concluded with a closing ceremony at the Arnos Vale playing field on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023.
The Georgetown Police Youth Club won the inaugural trophy after outperforming the Edge Media Centre Owia Police Youth Club. The tournament featured twenty clubs in five different zones.
Mr. Marvin Fraser, Facilities Manager for the National Sports Council, made a brief statement at the ceremony. He encouraged parents to continue supporting the Police Youth Club and become more involved in their children’s lives. He observed that today’s youth are consumed by alcohol and partying. He bemoaned the fact that the youths themselves strive to live an alcohol-free lifestyle and make the most of every opportunity.
Mr. Colin John, Commissioner of Police, in his remarks noted that the youths are our most valuable resources and encouraged them to keep doing their best. He pledged that the Police Force would continue to support the Youth Club in molding our youths.
Sergeant Stephen Billy, the National Police Youth Clubs Coordinator, gave the vote of thanks.
