The Republic of China, Taiwan, through a private foundation recently made a donation to the Ministry of Health.
According to the Minister of Health St. Clair the donation of 120 wheelchairs for adults, 25
wheelchairs for children, 80 walkers and 40 commode chairs and 200 canes, which were donated on April 6th, 2023, would go a long way in helping persons who are living with the effects of Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD)’s especially diabetes and assist some of the most vulnerable, especially amputees.
Ambassador of the Republic of China on Taiwan Ambassador Peter Sha-Li Lan explained that the donations were made through a well-known Taiwanese benefactor and his foundation, adding that he hopes this would be the start of further cooperation between the foundation and the Ministry of Health.
“We hope this batch of donations…will greatly assist Vincentians who are in great need,” the Ambassador stressed.
This donation comes two weeks after the Republic of China, Taiwan, made a donation of 240 thousand dollars worth of emergency medical supplies to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
