Je Belle Football Club, known as the ‘Green machine’, is the 2022/2023 Premier Division Champion of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation’s National Club Championships.
Je Belle was crowned champion last Saturday, April 14, when they beat Largo Height 3-1 at the Chili Playing Field, to go to 31 points.
A goal each from Terasson Joseph, Steven Pierre and Kamal Griffith, gave Je Belle their tally. Kareem Davis netted Largo Height’s consolation goal.
The Champion’s tally of 31 points was earned over 16 matches, in which they recorded nine wins, four draws and three losses.
Second to Je Belle was North Leeward Predators on 30 points. Predators added the last three points to their eventual tally when they beat Awesome 1-nil also on Saturday, at the Campden Park Playing Field.
The other results in Saturday’s final round saw Layou defeating dethroned champions – Hope International, 4-nil at the Victoria Park; and Avenues United having a 5-3 win over BESCO-Pastures at the Brighton Playing Field.
Layou ended third with 27 points, the same as Hope International, but with a superior goal difference, according them third place.
Avenues United ended fifth on 25 points, sixth was Awesome- 20 points, with Sion Hill seventh- 27 points.
BESCO-Pastures 27 points with an inferior goal differential than Sion Hill, placed eighth followed by relegated Largo Height- 8 points.
SV United and Camdonia- Chelsea are the two clubs expected to be promoted to the Premiership for the 2023/2024 National Club Championships.
