The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) is seeking the public’s input on a proposal to replace the late Queen Elizabeth II on the Eastern Caribbean Currency.
The decision to replace the late Queen II’s image was made during the 105th meeting of the Monetary Council of the ECCB.
The ECCB is currently proposing an image of the ECCB logo which consists of the flags of the eight member states.
The consultation process, where persons can make suggestions on the replacement image is open until December 2023, and a decision will be made by February 2024.
According to a release from the ECCB,iIt is anticipated the landmarks that are currently featured on our EC notes will be retained. These include:. Anguilla – The Warspite (back of the $10 note), Antigua and Barbuda – Admirals House (back of the $5 note), Commonwealth of Dominica – Trafalgar Falls (back of the $5 note), Grenada – Nutmeg (back of the $20 note), Montserrat – Government House (back of the $20 note), Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis – Brimstone Hill (back of the $50 note), Saint Lucia – Les Pitons (back of the $100 note) and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines – Admirality Bay (back of the $10 note)
