Saturday night when Merlyn Guy went to bed, she did not expect to wake up to her house being robbed.
Guy, who lives in Bay- Road Stubbs with her husband, sons, and daughter-in-law told ANN that she was awoken by a noise coming from the door of the house.
Afraid that someone was trying to steal their vehicle, she woke up to investigate the noise.
“When I peep outside I see a shadow run across so, by the time I pull back the curtain, I feel somebody hold on, on the bedroom door and push it and come in. Four of them dress in only black, just the eye alone outside,” a still visibly shaken Guy told ANN.
She pointed out that one of the robbers was armed and remained in the bedroom with another, while two others were in the hallway.
Guy said she asked why they were in the house but was yelled at by one of the robbers to “Shut Up”, and upon seeing the weapon she remained calm out of fear for her life.
She explained that while in the bedroom they took a jukebox that was on her dressing table, with two cellphones, some money she had stored in a pringle container and a pair of Adidas slippers.
“When I come in front there, two was inside and two came outside and when I notice they walk with the two tvs and another jukebox.”
Guy further said that she was asked about the other occupants of the house, who at the time were her son and her daughter-in-law.
She said that when they made their way into her son’s room, her daughter-in-law woke up her son, however, when the robber saw her son getting out of bed he ran out of the house.
Guy said she feels frightened and is not sure whether she would be sleeping at her home tonight.
Her daughter, Nekeisha Guy, who was with her mother during the interview said that she was scared for her mother when she got the called about the robbery
Guy noted that there have been several robberies in the community over the past few months and so far no one has been arrested.
