November 05, 2023, Kingstown: The Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting incident that resulted in the death of Maurice Primus, a thirty-one (31) year-old labourer of Fair Hall. The deceased was discovered unresponsive with injuries to his body along Fair Hall Public Road sometime after 10:00 p.m. on Friday, November 03, 2023.
About 10:20 p.m. on the date in question, the Calliaqua Police received an anonymous call stating that a male was seen lying on the Fair Hall Public Road. A party of police officers headed by Inspector Ashlyn Samuel-Bristol immediately left the station for the scene of the incident. On arrival at the crime scene, the deceased was found lying on his back motionless with what appeared to be bullet wounds on his body. The deceased was later identified as Maurice Primus of Fair Hall.
The crime scene was processed and items of evidential value were collected. Primus was later pronounced deceased by a Medical Practitioner.
Preliminary information revealed that the deceased was walking home after attending a function when the shooting occurred.
A postmortem examination is expected to be carried out on the deceased to ascertain the exact cause of death. The RSVGPF expresses its deepest condolences to all those who are negatively affected by this fatal incident.
