The body that was missing at sea has been positively identified as Javed Clarke of Chapmans/Cedars, a 17-year-old former student of the North Union Secondary School. Clarke was reported missing at sea on just after 2:00 p.m. onSaturday 30th December 2023 after he went to bathe at Cedars Beach. As a result, divers from the SVG Coast Guard and police officers attached to the Biabou Police Station carried out several searches in the surrounding waters but did not recover the body.

On Monday 01st January 2024 about 5:53 p.m., a resident of Stubbs went to the Stubbs Police Station and reported that a body washed ashore at Rawacou Beach. The police visited the scene.

The District Medical Officer also visited the scene and pronounced the body deceased. Clarke’s body was later positively identified by his guardian.

A post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted on the body to ascertain the cause of death. The RSVGPF extends condolences to all who are negatively affected by this incident. The investigations continue.
