On May 11, 2024, Roynel Polin/Peters, a 25-year-old laborer from Victoria Village, was arrested and charged by the police with the offenses of possession of an illegal firearm, burglary, and going equipped for burglary.
Based on the available investigation, it has been found that Polin/Peters had allegedly possessed a firearm without a valid license issued under the Firearms Act. In addition, he was also charged with trespassing into a liquor and provision shop owned by a 40-year-old businessman from Sion Hill, and stealing items worth $941.00 ECC. Furthermore, he was also accused of possessing burglary tools, namely a pry bar and bolt cutter, outside his residential premises. These charges have been established with confidence, based on the available evidence.
It is a fact that an incident occurred in Richmond Hill on May 9, 2024. Polin/Peters, the accused, appeared before the Serious Offences Court on May 13, 2024, where he pleaded guilty to the charge of Going Equipped. As a result, he was fined $1000.00 ECC, to be paid in one month or spend three months in prison. Despite pleading not guilty to the charges of Possession of Illegal Firearm and Burglary, he was granted composite bail of $10,000.00 ECC with one surety and ordered to report to the Central Police Station every Monday between 8 AM and 8 PM. The matter has been adjourned to May 28, 2024.
