In a significant move to boost the tourism sector, American Airlines announced the launch of two new weekly routes to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, commencing December 7.
This strategic expansion will see flights departing from Charlotte, North Carolina, and JFK, New York, directly to the Caribbean paradise. Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development, and Culture, Carlos James, heralded this development as a milestone in enhancing the nation’s connectivity with key markets. “I’m thrilled to announce these new routes, which will significantly enhance air access and provide a substantial boost to our tourism sector,” stated Minister James. “Tourism is undeniably a significant contributor to our GDP, and as the Minister of Tourism, I am honored to lead the transformation of our tourism sector.”The new routes are expected to facilitate easier travel for visitors, thus driving an increase in tourist arrivals and economic activity.
The announcement comes as a result of an ongoing collaboration between the SVG Tourism Authority and American Airlines, aimed at strengthening Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ position as a premier travel destination.
