In his address for Child Month, Minister of Education Hon. Curtis King reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of children in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. A central initiative this year is the launch of the Safe Schools Initiative, in partnership with UNICEF. The program focuses on enhancing school infrastructure, training educators in child protection and mental health, and building strong support systems involving families and local authorities.

Minister King emphasized that a safe environment is essential for children to learn, dream, and thrive, and pledged continued policy improvements to support this goal.

Child Month 2025 is being celebrated under the theme: “Keep us safe, strong and free. We are children, let us be!”
