According to a recent press release, the Blue Marlins Swim Club had a stellar performance at the Barbados Aquatic Swimming Association (BASA) Invitational Swim Championship, held in Barbados from May 23 to 26, 2024. The event saw participation from twenty-three swim clubs, featuring both regional and international swimmers.
The Blue Marlins Swim Club amassed a total of nineteen medals: one gold, eight silver, and ten bronze. The press release highlighted several outstanding performances. Notably, Hazen Da Briel, competing in the 13-14 category, won seven medals—four silver and three bronze. Da Briel also broke two national records in the 800 and 400 meter freestyle races. Tayeah St. Hiliare, swimming in the girls’ division of the same category, secured a bronze medal.
The 11-12 categories also showcased impressive performances. Jadon Hamilton won eight medals: three silver and five bronze. Belle Adams earned a bronze medal, while Caghry Williams took home one gold and one silver. Other swimmers representing the club included Jod Baker, Malique Mayers, Rolene Sam, Zaryah Samuel, Zane Da Briel, Saige Jobe, and Raya Adams, many of whom achieved personal best times. The team was led by Coach Alyssa Davis.
