The following is a skit that depicts the crab in a mentality at some workplaces, with friends, and in some homes with families.
Workplaces
Karen: Good morning Stacey, how was your weekend? And what did you do on the weekend?
Stacey: Morning Karen, my weekend was good, I did some chores around the house, went movies with the family and got some rest on Sunday afternoon. How was your weekend?
Karen: My weekend was good, I attended a wedding and went beach with the family. I have a question to ask you, how many qualifications do you have?
Stacey: I have 10 CXC subjects, an Associate Degree in Business Administration, hopefully soon, I would be pursuing my bachelors.
Karen: Boss, good morning. I was having a conversation with Stacey. Stacey is highly qualified, she has 10 CXC subjects and also an Associate Degree in Business Administration and she also mentioned that she might be starting her bachelors soon. Promotion is coming up and I only have 3 CXC subjects. I need this promotion and Stacey is a threat to me with her qualifications. Remember I does bring all the commess to you with everybody at the office and don’t forget my political affiliation.
Boss: What I would do, I would transfer Stacey to another unit to frustrate her and she won’t be able to use her training, once she is out of the unit, you would get the promotion.
Karen: Thank you boss, you are the best boss in the entire world.
Moral of the story: Be very careful with some bosses and coworkers at the workplace. They would stab you in your back and try to hinder your progress.
Friends
Mary: Jessica, Sarah, Stephanie and Jennifer, I think we should make a lime later at the bar, it has been over a year since all of us went out.
Jessica: Sorry, I am coming down with the flu, the rest of you can go, and next time once I am not sick, I would definitely be coming.
Bar tender: Good night, which drink would you ladies be having from the menu?
Mary: 4 beers please. I am here reflecting on our lives and the only person who is progressing is Jessica. Jessica has a handsome boyfriend who treats her really well, they are such a lovely couple together. Both of them are building a house, she has a good job, and she wears a lot of beautiful clothes. Meanwhile, the rest of us can’t keep a man for six months, it seems like goat bite us.
Sarah: I have an idea, we can try and break up Jessica relationship so she would be single like us. We can tell Jessica boyfriend some lies for example she is a prostitute and not a nice person. What you ladies think?
Stephanie: I think that is a brilliant idea. We can pay someone to feed Jessica boyfriend with all these lies. We must do whatever it takes to break up that relationship.
Bar tender: Oh my god, I need to call Jessica. Jessica those photos you showed of the four ladies who are your best friend, they are at the bar where I work. I overheard them saying that they would be paying someone to feed your boyfriend with lies to say that you are a prostitute and not a nice person. I think these friends are jealous of your relationship and you need to be extra careful with them.
Moral of the story: Jealousy makes people do all manner of evil things to you. Choose your friends wisely, not everything that glitters is gold.
Families
Grandma: Kyle, I know that you have a vehicle, I am having some difficulties breathing, can you take me to the hospital?
Kyle: I don’t have time with you old woman, I am going to get ready to attend a party with some friends.
George: Grandma, I would call the hospital and let them send an ambulance. Doctor, how is my grandma doing?
Doctor: I don’t know how to tell you this, but your grandmother has lung cancer and I don’t think she would live to see the end of the year.
George: Grandma, I guess you heard the news from the doctor. I want you to be strong and prayer a lot.
Grandma: I would definitely be praying a lot George, we didn’t come on earth to live forever. I know I don’t have a long time to live but before I leave this earth, the house I have, I would be leaving it in your name. I also have thirty thousand dollars in the bank, I would be leaving it with you. I have already contacted my lawyer, you were the only one who were there for me during my sickness and I really do appreciate your kindness.
Six months later Grandma died
Kyle: Grandma recently died, I would love to have that big house, I don’t think she had time to leave it for anyone. Next month, I would be moving in to that house.
George: Before you move into that house, let me ask you a question. Before grandma died were you ever there for her? Remember the day she took sick at home you refused to give her a ride to the hospital because you had to go to a party with your friends. I have news for you, before she died, she left her house in my name. The deed is in my name. Maybe if you were nice to her during her lifetime, she would have left some of her assets with you.
Moral of the story: Always be kind to people, you never know what favor they would return to you in the future.
